It seems to have been busier than ever since I returned from England. I guess I became accustomed to the relaxed way of life in an English country village and then jumped right back into the good, old, American work ethic! We are grateful for all of the beautiful projects we get to do for our wonderful clients.
We have been busy putting designer touches on a luxury semi-custom home in Cypress. By the time we finish with it, it will be custom indeed! New chandeliers, wallpaper, decorative paint and lots of upholstery really make a new house into a family’s home.We have moved upstairs to the game room, now, and the huge backyard, summer kitchen, and pool area. The family was really excited to get their outdoor cushions back! We ordered some really pretty outdoor pieces. Aren’t these Tommy Bahama pieces a charming addition to an outdoor living area?
I made a trip down to our major renovation in Missouri City. The house is looking fabulous. The various shades of white and gray really update and complement the 70’s contemporary architecture of the house. We selected charcoal five-panel doors with white trim and gray walls and they really look great, especially with the beautiful tile floors. Here are a few photos and a selfie of me looking happy to see this project nearly complete and ready for decorating! We just love these clients, too!
I’ve had an eventful week! This past week I had an amazing opportunity to do two interviews regarding my expertise. My first interview was The Price of Business on Business Talk 1110 AM KTEK in Houston, Texas, click here to listen. My second interview with Bill Knapik, on The Real Estate Matters show discussing interior design trends in the Houston Market. Get a glimpse of my interior advice here! I cannot wait to go back and share my expertise with the Houston market.
My house is looking better and better. We are actually almost ready to start entertaining. We have gone ahead and had a few folks over who we knew wouldn’t be too horrified to see numerous in-progress design activities. My antique china cupboard is in the garage getting refinished and all of my crystal and china are on the floor, the butler’s pantry is a work in progress and I finally started replacing the ratty towels I kept for the move. However, our friends just walk on by and ignore it all (I hope!).
I had promised to let a few friends in for a very early sneak peek so I had my representatives at Ferguson, Kelly Myers and Lindsey Root and my electrical advisor Amy Collier over for a fun Friday happy hour.
Great projects, great clients, and great colleagues always inspire me. Until next time, find your inspiration—or call us, and we’ll help you discover it!
