Nothing is more exciting than the impending arrival of your baby! Nine months may seem like forever, but your bundle of joy will be here before you know it. Although there’s a long to-do list, designing the nursery should be at the top. Not sure where to start? No need to fear! Here are a few design elements to consider when designing your baby’s nursery:

Color Schemes
Playing with different color palettes is by far one of the most fun aspects of designing a nursery. Of course, you can always choose a color scheme based on your baby’s gender. However, selecting a color palette outside of the gender norm is very popular. You want your baby’s room to radiate peace and serenity, so going with a soft color palette is recommended.

Seating
As a new parent, you are going to spend a great deal of time in your nursery. Most nights, you’ll find yourself cradling your child to sleep, so having a comfortable seating area is crucial. Your rocking chair should have plenty of back support and be nice and cozy.

Storage
You will be surprised how much clothing, diapers and accessories a baby needs. Invest in open shelving and bookcases with canvas storage baskets. Toy chests and bulk bins are also great for storing items that you don’t want visible and to keep the space serene and clutter-free.

Designing your baby’s nursery should be a fun and exciting process! There are lots of aspects to consider, but most importantly, you should design a nursery that’s both comfortable and functional. When designing a nursery, what’s most important to you? Share your thoughts with us on Facebook!
