I’m jumping with joy, because the holiday season is right around the corner! When I think of the holidays, I imagine the smell of spices and baked goods lingering through my home, festive decor and guests coming in and out of my home. With the holiday season approaching, it’s important to prep your home for guests.

An essential for party hosts is to have the perfect powder room ready. Powder rooms are bathrooms without bathtubs and are meant exclusively for guests. Here are some essential pieces to include in your powder room.

Vanity mirror
No powder room is complete without an elegant vanity mirror. A dramatic mirror will add big personality to what is typically a small room. To give the space a bigger feel, add a floor to ceiling mirror.

Pendant lighting
Get creative with your lighting fixtures. Pendant lighting creates a relaxing ambiance and provides an elegant touch.

Dresser
Dressers are typically designed for bedrooms, but not anymore! Since powder rooms are small, it’s important to consider function in your design. A dresser is not only a stylish piece, but it’s also great for storage.

Vessel sink
A vessel sink adds another layer of dimension to your powder room. Instead of your traditional sink, consider a spherical or rectangular vessel sink. When it comes to the material, you can also go the porcelain route or with copper.

Having a beautiful, functional powder room is important for any home – especially during the holiday season! How are you prepping your powder room for an influx of holiday guests? Share your powder room photos with us on Twitter!
