I hope everyone is enjoying our beautiful weather! We have been out and about quite a bit here at PHD!
We have a new Rice Military client who wanted some updates. New paint, tile, wallpaper, lighting, and rugs have arrived and the progress is moving along steadily. The kitchen cabinets have been painted and her updated kitchen is starting to take shape. Our client enjoyed some much needed rest at the beach while we got to work. The renovation is going to be beautiful! I have really enjoyed running the job. Pamela normally does most of the new construction and remodeling, but I am so passionate about home improvement, I wanted to manage this one from start to finish.
We recently finished a living room, dining room, and master bedroom update for a client in the Heights. New, woven shades complement the new draperies in a beautiful, bold navy blue and taupe patterned fabric. The window treatments give just the right accent to the dining room. We added accessories to the living room and beautiful black-and-white photography prints by the fireplace and in the small foyer.
We enjoyed working with Carlos Ocando, a local photographer who Pamela met during an art stroll at Silver Street Studios. He was the perfect match for the nature shots Pamela had envisioned for the space, and the client just loved his work. He finds the most amazing views in the most ordinary parts of the city and even the suburbs. Take a look at his work: https://www.carlosocando.com/. We are big fans!
The master bedroom received upholstered chairs in a taupe, gray, and white textured fabric. New-mercury glass lamps and accessories in bold, teal colors make the room pop. We think her cat Gumbeaux likes it, too!
When the sun is shining and the temperature is in the mid 70s, it’s great to get out and enjoy our city. Pamela was given VIP passes from one of our vendors, Cambria Quartz Countertops, for the Farm to Table Faire at Fulshear Run. She invited the girls and me and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed sampling great food from different restaurants around the city and touring some beautiful model homes. The perfect afternoon for an outing in the country!
Another recent adventure was The Houston Art Car Parade. It was the first time for Mia and me to attend. We were amazed with the creativity. Each and every car was so different. Mia got to actually put her “stamp” on one of the cars too. I could see her “wheels turning” thinking about what she could design.
On the homefront, May is going to be a busy month. A prom dress has been purchased and boutonniere has been ordered. The final spring band concert and band banquet dates have been set. The cap and gown pictures have been purchased, and we are on the downside of the countdown to graduation. The girls are excited to have started the dorm selection process for the fall. I don’t remember it being so involved as it is today, but then again, that was many moons ago! We can’t wait to decorate those dorm rooms!
Until next time, keep your creative juices flowing!
