We are well into summer, and the heat is on at Pamela Hope Designs! As you saw in Pamela’s latest newsletter, she is back from her travels and we are busy with our client projects.
Last week, we visited our Missouri City clients to see an almost-finished, whole-house remodel. We were so excited to admire the newly installed carpet! Carpet is nearly the last thing to go in, so it’s super exciting to see it in place! Now, we are actually starting in on some serious furniture hunting. Pamela had taken the clients furniture shopping a week or two ago. We met at their home to make some final decisions on which sofas they liked best. We also discussed hardware placement for their new kitchen cabinets, appliances, master bath, and media cabinetry. You know you have some awesome clients when they agree to meet and work in the heat with no AC running. Their pool was looking mighty tempting! We made some great decisions, and we are all excited to see the home closer to completion. You can view some very rough field photos of our progress below.
Pamela has been doing a lot of charity and volunteer work all year. She is often asked to provide table décor for galas and events all over town. She also scoured the studio for home décor and other design items appropriate for the Fab Finds Market, benefitting the Cottage Shop and the Women’s Home. We took load after load of great designer loot over to the sale, and Pamela also sat at the design desk to provide free design advice to guests and customers.
On the homefront, my girls are enjoying their summer. We plan to make a couple of visits to the beach before they have to go back to school. They will be Seniors this year. I can’t believe it! I warned Pamela that I will be sobbing quietly at my desk most of next year. I actually teared up a bit the other day when I was delivering a table to some wonderful clients. Their two daughters were working at the kitchen table, just like my girls used to. I told their mother that time goes by so fast!
So whether you are shopping for new furniture, placing hardware on your cabinets, or spending long lazy summer days with your family, remember to have fun and appreciate the little moments.
It’s exciting to build or remodel your home and to see it come to fruition, even when it’s blazing hot out (or inside, as well)! And, believe it or not, now is the time to start planning for fall renovations. So, if you’d prefer cooler temps for your design work, call us now to get started in a few months. Time will fly by as it always does.
Until next time, keep your creative juices flowing!
